Richmond Park, London - Trail Run
Sunday 25th September 2011

Our first trail run is held along the Tamsin Trail which runs around the perimeter of Richmond Park, London. Yet another fantastic Royal location which will undoubtedly see you enjoy fantastic wildlife and vista views. The off road track is in excellent condition and makes an enjoyable difference to pounding the hard tarmac roads.

GETTING THERE

                            
Richmond Park
Sheen Gate
Sheen Lane
SW14 8BJ (please note this is not an exact postcode, but will bring you on to the road approaching the gate).

 

By public transport

The nearest railway station is Mortlake Station, approx 20min walk from the event. There several bus stops even closer.



PARKING

There is a car park just inside the gate.  This is limited and also for general public use. So if possible please travel together. Also there is some parking available on residential roads just outside the park.

 

 

ARRIVAL & REGISTERING

 

Registration desk will be open from 7am until 8.00am. On arrival please follow signs towards the registration area, where you can register and get any further information for the day. Attach your number to the front your shirt securely with 4 safety pins. There will be a small secure area to leave your belongings but they are left here at your own risk. Don’t worry we will be there to help you!

 

PRE RACE BRIEFING

 

Please could all participants be ready for the briefing at 8.15am. This will be very helpful for you to understand how everything will work throughout the event, it is very important that you are present for this as we will go through routes, safety details and any changes.

 

 

START TIMES

 

The first group is starting at 8.30am and each group will be set off in waves of approximately 2 mins between each. You will be informed of your wave start time on the day. Please make sure you are ready and in position for your start.

 

RUN/WALK ROUTE (11.5km approx)

 

Each wave will begin at the start line. You will be following the ‘Tamsin Trail’ which runs around the edge of the park. There will be marshals along route, so there will not be any confusion!

 

 

 

FINISH

 

On completion of your run/walk, cross the finish line to collect your well earned goody bag and much needed water.

 

 

COLLECTION OF EQUIPMENT

 

When collecting your kit, please consider those who are still participating.

 

SPECTATORS

 

It is a great motivator for you to have friends and family attend the event with you. Richmond Park is a wonderful place to spend a Sunday morning. Why not come and enjoy the park and cheer on the participants.

 

FACILITIES

 

Pembroke Lodge
10am-5.30pm - A beautiful Georgian mansion set in 13 acres of landscaped grounds with spectacular view. The Lodge has a banqueting facility for up to 130 people, supported by a car park and disabled access. There is a garden with seating, and the Lodge is licensed for alcohol. Children are catered for, and high chairs and baby change can be provided. 

Roehampton Café - Roehampton Gate car park Open: 9am-5pm daily- Serves a range of snacks, drinks and ice creams, indoor and outdoor seating. 

Refreshment Points - Broomfield Hill and Pen Pond car parks. 9am-6pm.Serving a wide a range of hot and cold snacks and beverages. From bacon rolls to freshly brewed coffee, ice cream to biscotti. 

Parkcycle is Richmond Park's Cycling Centre located at the Roehampton Gate car park. A range of both off and on road bicycles are available for hire by the hour from the centre enabling you to enjoy the unique environment of Richmond Park. http://parkcycle.co.uk/

 

Toilet facilities are available just inside Sheen Gate (which is about 1 min from the start) and porto loos in the car park, also next to the start, for participants only.

Medical Team & Marshals

 

St Johns Ambulance will be situated at the registration point, and are there for you should you need them. 
We have a team of marshals who are here to help and guide you through the day. Please respect them and always follow their directions. They are there to assist you where possible, so please obey their instructions. If you are bringing family or friends to the event, and they would like to help out, please let us know. We are always looking for volunteers to help out with all aspects of the day.

Event Rules & Safety


Please write your name, emergency contact number and any blood group and any allergies, medical conditions on the back of your event number.

Entry fee is non refundable.

Marshals are there to assist you where possible, so please obey their instructions.

Music or use of mobile phones is NOT permitted whilst participating (unless emergency).

First Aid is provided by St. Johns Ambulance.

Please ensure you are familiar with the entire course. Map and directions are attached

Only follow the marked course and direction of the marshals.

Please report any accidents to the registration point and of course St Johns are there to help you if needed.
